The sacrament of Reconciliation is an essential and wonderful component of our faith. It is Christ absolving us of our sin so as to better unite our lives to Him. To be in a state of sin is to be separated from God, and when separated by sin one cannot receive the Body and Blood of Christ. The first time this is celebrated is usually in the 2nd grade and must occur before First Holy Communion.
