Sacred Heart Church began in 1921 when the people of "Petite Cote" (now LaSalle) petitioned the then Bishop M.F. Fallon for permission to build a Church. The desire of these Catholic people was to have a Church where daily Mass could be said. Soon after, Fr. Magloire Baillargeon, was appointed the first Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish. In July of that year, Fr. Baillargeon offered Mass for the first time in Petite-Cote in the old school house. Plans for the church were drawn by Architect John R. Boyde of Windsor. In 1923 the Church was opened.
